Well, it has been a long time since we have updated our blog. Most of you have probably considered us missing in action. Hopefully, you have not forgotten us because we have not forgotten you! We don’t have internet at home and Isaac can’t access the blog at work, so unless we go to the library specifically to update our blog, it just doesn’t happen.
A lot has happened since our last update. As most of you know, we got a dog (Miniature Pinscher) and named her Ginger. While we know that she is not our child, she does keep us on our toes.

In December, Ginger started having problems… you know… potty problems. We couldn’t figure it out! She had been trained pretty well up to that point and all of the sudden, she couldn’t hold it and it wasn’t coming out just right. So, after a particularly bad night, we took her to the vet. 400 dollars later, we found out that she had eaten something sharp that was messing with her intestines. Dumb dog! The doctor let Isaac take a picture of the x-rays. He’s pointing to the sharp object.

This all happened the week we were supposed to drive to DC for Elise and Steve’s wedding (Alexis’ sister). The vet said we had to check her smelly chocolates with a plastic glove to see if the object came out, so here we were, two weirdos in the middle of nowhere picking up poop all the way to Virginia. Yuck!

The trip to Virginia was very nice until the day of the wedding. It snowed two feet that day and we had to caravan to the temple. There were cars all over the side of the road and people just didn’t know how to drive in the snow. Fortunately, nobody in the wedding party had any major issues. That evening, we all just hunkered down and ate reception food. It was so bad that nobody was able to come to the reception and Elise and Steve were able to leave at around 5pm.

Isaac has been constantly working on our new home. He is remodeling the basement and has added a laundry room and a bathroom, (well, the bathroom is just a storage room for now) and we hope to have a garden this summer.

From October through January, Isaac was bound and determined to get a deer. It is his first year ever BOW hunting and he was able to hunt at his work and went out at least twice a week, sometimes more. He got a couple of shots off, but in the end, all he came home with was the liver of someone else’s deer and an antler that he found his last day. Oh well. Maybe next year. We have enjoyed a couple of visits over the past few months. Recently Isaac’s sister, Jenny, her husband, Brandon, and their new baby, Cole, came to visit. It was the first time we got to see Cole. We have adorable nieces and nephews! It was a short trip, but we had a great time. We invite anyone who wants to see Kansas City (Or us) to come visit anytime. We even have a spare bunk bed and a couple of inflatable mattresses.

Lexie is still working at Hobby Lobby, and for the most part, she enjoys it. Retail is not the most fun type of business to work for, but it’s nice and close, and it can be fun. Lexie is also still involved in the Primary presidency in our ward, and loves serving the kids.
Isaac is also teaching Valiant 11 and is really enjoying it. His class is only 4 boys, and sometimes we can’t decide which one is the teacher and which are the students…hahaha.

Ginger is a big part of our lives. We don’t think we need cable with Ginger around. A couple of weeks ago Lexie bought some Valentine candy for Isaac and had it out on top of our piano in a candy dish. Lexie was downstairs and noticed that Ginger was no longer down there with her, and it was very quiet. Dogs are like kids…when they are quiet you know that there is something not good going on. Lexie went upstairs to find the landing covered with foil wrappers. Ginger had jumped up on the piano taken a Hershey kiss out of the bowl, jumped down to the carpet, and eaten it (wrapper and all). She must have done this 20 or so times. Lexie was afraid the dog was going to die of chocolate overdose. She didn’t. She just kept throwing up, until finally she threw up a large ball of aluminum foil. She was better after that.

Well, we love you all, and miss you! Missouri is a great place to live, so if any of you get the hankering for the Midwest, or desire a slightly used Min Pin, let us know!
